Privacy Policy

How Vote Like Hell collects, uses, protects, and shares the information you provide.

Document VLH-101 · Version 1.0 (Founding Edition) · Effective August 5, 2026

1. Purpose

This Privacy Policy explains how Vote Like Hell collects, uses, protects, stores, and discloses information obtained through the platform.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information you voluntarily provide, including account registration details, candidate verification information, communications, and technical usage information such as browser type, IP address, device information, and cookies.

3. How We Use Information

Information is used to operate the platform, verify candidate identities, improve services, communicate with users, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Information Sharing

Vote Like Hell does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with trusted service providers performing services on our behalf, when legally required, or with the user’s consent.

5. Data Security

Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are maintained to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

6. Data Retention

Information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill legitimate business, legal, security, or regulatory purposes.

7. Cookies and Analytics

The platform may use cookies and analytics technologies to improve performance, understand usage, and enhance the user experience.

8. BallotPlan and Your Address

BallotPlan is built so that we cannot know how you intend to vote, rather than promising that we will not look. Your selections are written to your own browser and are never transmitted to Vote Like Hell. We hold no record of them, which means there is nothing for us to sell, share, hand over on request, or lose in a breach.

Vote Like Hell does not retain the voter’s address or their BallotPlan selections. The address you enter is used once, to work out which districts you vote in, and is then discarded. We do not save it and we keep no cache of it. It is sent inside the request rather than in the web address, so it is not written into routine server or network logs. The address must, however, be transmitted to the service used to determine your applicable districts, which is Google’s Civic Information service, and that transmission is subject to Google’s own privacy policy. We send nothing else with it. We never tell any third party what you selected, because we do not know.

Vote Like Hell does not build voter profiles, does not compile lists of people by likely voting intention, and does not provide data to campaigns, parties, or political committees for targeting or for challenging anyone’s eligibility to vote. Candidates who subscribe to our plans receive no information whatsoever about who viewed their profile or who added them to a plan.

9. User Rights

Where applicable, users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law and legitimate operational requirements.

10. Children’s Privacy

The platform is not directed toward children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.

11. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated through the established Vote Like Hell governance process. Material changes will be reflected by an updated version and effective date.

12. Contact

Privacy questions may be directed through the official Vote Like Hell contact channels, including Info@wevotelikehell.com.
